Throughout the school year, our community gathers for Catholic Mass, ecumenical prayer services, and moments of shared reflection.

Campus Ministry coordinates approximately one all-school Mass during each month of the academic year, as well as a welcome Mass for incoming students during the Summer Success Institute. Faculty and staff also gather for liturgies at the beginning and conclusion of the school year.

Students help bring these celebrations to life by serving as lectors, altar servers, ushers, music ministers, and, when trained and eligible, Eucharistic ministers. Cristo Rey Miami may also welcome religious leaders from other faith traditions to guide prayer, reflection, and opportunities for our community to listen and learn together.

Students of all faith backgrounds attend schoolwide worship and prayer gatherings. No student is expected to profess beliefs they do not hold. Every student is expected to be present, attentive, and respectful while participating in a way that is consistent with their own beliefs.

Retreats allow students and families to step away from the regular pace of school, reflect on their experiences, build stronger relationships, and grow in faith and self-awareness.

Every grade participates in at least one retreat each school year. Depending on the program, retreats may take place on campus, off campus, during the school day, on a weekend, or overnight. Attendance at each student’s grade-level retreat is required.

Service is not an addition to the Cristo Rey Miami experience. It is an essential part of how students learn to put faith, compassion, and leadership into action.

Every student must complete 100 approved service hours before graduation, with an expected goal of 25 hours during each academic year.

Campus Ministry provides regular opportunities for students to earn hours while supporting meaningful causes and responding to real community needs. Designated Service Saturdays are offered throughout the school year to make service opportunities more accessible to students and families.

Monarch Ministry is designed for students who feel called to take a more active role in faith, service, and social justice at Cristo Rey Miami.

The Minister leaders help prepare and lead school liturgies and prayer services. Depending on their interests and training, students may serve as lectors, altar servers, ushers, music ministers, or members of the planning team. They may also create visual and spiritual resources, support Campus Ministry events, welcome members of the community, and help lead service initiatives.

Through Monarch Ministry, students strengthen their own faith while learning how to lead with empathy, build community, welcome people from different backgrounds, and serve others with purpose.

Faith comes alive throughout the year through celebrations, learning experiences, prayer, service, and school traditions that bring our entire community together.

These experiences help students understand the meaning behind Catholic traditions while creating space for students of all faiths to reflect, participate respectfully, and grow together as a community.
