Family Contribution and Step up for Students

Financial Contribution

The cost to educate each student at Cristo Rey Miami High School is approximately $15,000 per year - which includes books, meals (breakfast and lunch) and extracurricular fees.  Cristo Rey Miami High School is committed to making a high-quality, Catholic college preparatory education available to qualified students from families with limited financial means.

Students earn 50% of the cost of their education through our innovative Corporate Work-Study Program.

The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship administered through Step up for Florida Students provides an additional 30% of the tuition cost.  Participation in the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program is a requirement for all Cristo Rey Miami Students. Donations from individuals and foundations cover another 10% of the cost.

Family Contribution

Every family is expected to make some financial contribution to their student's education. The Admissions and Finance Offices will work with each family to determine the appropriate amount.

Cristo Rey Miami provides a Catholic, college-preparatory education and professional work experience to students from families with limited financial means.

Every family is asked to make an investment in their student’s education. Cristo Rey Miami will conduct a financial assessment of each admitted family to set a tuition amount that is meaningful to a family, but not a hardship.  Tuition for Cristo Rey families is set on a sliding scale according to a family’s circumstances.  Family contributions toward tuition range from $25 to $150 a month.

Family Participation

Cristo Rey Miami believes in family partnerships for the development and education of their son/daughter.  Parents and family members are expected to commit an amount of time quarter in support of their student(s).  A parent steering committee will be formed to allow families to have a voice within the school and the decisions that are made.  In addition, Cristo Rey Miami will be using several programs that will allow parents and students to be aware of academics, behavior, and school news.

Income Eligibility for Cristo Rey Miami is determined by the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship program income guides.  Families must fall below 250% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.  Please see the chart below or click here for the FPL Calculator.
