· Advises students on all aspects of the college admissions process, including test preparation plans, personal statement and essays, and financial planning.
· Assists in the selection of students for special programs and scholarships.
· Plans college tours and college fairs for students and families.
· Plans parent/community education nights geared around post-secondary options and the college application and decision process.
· Works closely with university partners to ensure students are maximizing their experience on-campus through enrichment programs.

Job Description
The School Security Officer is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and supportive environment and school culture that focuses on the intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development of our students. This individual will ensure the campus facilities are safe from potential external harm and students are interacting in a safe and scholarly manner. The School Security Officer will assist with the following responsibilities:
· Continuously builds relationships with students to ensure a culture of respect and rapport with all.
· Provides guidance and mentors students.
· Provides access to campus;
· Patrolls and monitors the campus and surrounding areas;
· Ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff;
· Intervenes in high-risk situations;
· Re-directs students from potential misconduct;
· Assists with flow of students during transitions;
· Ensures students arrive to class on time;
· Removal of students from class when needed;
· Assists with arrival and dismissal routines;
· Assists with execution of emergency response drills;
· Monitors doors, windows, entrance, and exit points on school grounds;
· Patrols inside of school building for potential hide out spots;
· Assists with investigations and/or search and seizure situations;
· Assists with promoting positive student behavior;
· Enforces the school’s discipline system;
· Maintains accurate discipline and behavior records;
· Enforces the school’s dress code;

· Contributes to the Catholic identity and culture of Cristo Rey Miami.
· Contributes to Cristo Rey’s college-preparatory academic culture and believes that every student can get to and through college.
· Is an exemplar of the school’s core values.
· Participates in student events and extracurricular activities to strengthen school culture and experience.

Qualifications
Highly qualified applicants will demonstrate a commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey Miami through evidence of being contributors to a culture of supportive and effective teams. We seek to hire a candidate who is mission-driven, skilled in their field, involved in the community, and dedicated to the success of all students. In addition, they will meet or exceed the following requirements:
- Three to five years of security experience in a school setting
- Valid security credential
- Ability and desire to effectively communicate and build relationships with students
- Demonstrated commitment to Catholic, urban education
- Demonstrated ability to connect with urban students and families
- Skilled problem solver who will meet challenges with creative and effective solutions
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Kreyòl preferred.
- Ability to complete Virtus Training

Salary and Compensation: Cristo Rey Miami has a salary scale that is based on education and experience. Full time employees will be eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, retirement, and other supplementary insurance.
